Candidate FAQs
Answers for Newborn Care Specialists and postpartum doulas who want to join our roster.
What if I don't meet the minimum requirements yet to apply?
Continue to build your resume and grow your knowledge. Newborn Care Solutions offers a range of training courses designed for Newborn Care Specialists at varying stages of their careers, at newborncaresolutions.com.
Am I more likely to get hired if I've completed Newborn Care Solutions' training programs?
We are a referral agency, meaning that our role in the hiring process is recruiting, vetting, and introducing candidates to families, who then make the hiring decision that is right for their family. Being a graduate of our training programs is not a requirement to become a candidate.
What does it cost to become a candidate at The Newborn Care Solutions Agency?
There are no fees associated with joining our roster or applying for our open positions. We just ask for professional communication, integrity, and respect at each step of the journey.
Do you have open positions in my area?
As a nationwide agency, we work with families across the country, many of whom are willing to provide transportation to and from their home base during short-term contracts.
Does The Newborn Care Solutions Agency collect the deposit or retainer?
No. While we will help educate the client on standard practices, the ultimate relationship is between you and the client, and you will handle any required retainer or deposit directly with the client.
Can I use my own contract?
Yes. We will help educate the client about contracts with their chosen NCS, and the actual contract for employment will be between you and the client.
If I registered with you before, why do I need to provide a new resume and references?
The newborn care industry is constantly evolving, and so are caregivers' skills, experience, certifications, and employment histories. To ensure we are representing you accurately and providing families with the most current information, we require an updated resume and reference list with each new registration.
Why can't I submit letters of recommendation instead of having you contact my references?
Letters of recommendation can be helpful supplemental information, but they do not replace our reference verification process. As part of our commitment to both client safety and ethical recruiting practices, we personally speak with references whenever possible. Direct conversations allow us to ask role-specific questions, verify employment details, understand your strengths, and make the best possible matches for families.
