While we respect and adore the hundreds of Newborn Care Specialists who rely on our training programs to advance their careers, our agency is open to working with candidates from a variety of backgrounds and training programs.
Our minimum requirements for all candidates
- A formal NCS training program such as Newborn Care Solutions' Foundational Course or an equivalent training program (including postpartum doula training) or certification; or 5+ years of professional experience working as an NCS or postpartum doula.
- Complete the Agency Skills Assessment.
- A minimum of 2 years' or 5 short-term positions (whichever is less) working exclusively in-home as a Newborn Care Specialist or a postpartum doula.
- Ability to work legally in the United States, either as a W-2 employee or as an independent contractor operating your own business.
- Glowing references from past employers.
- A professional demeanor and communication style, both written and verbal.
- A genuine passion for caring for infants and supporting new families.
- A clean driving record for positions that list driving as a requirement.
